This copper intaglio print using etching and aquatint, plays with deep shadows and textures and shows a female figure from behind. Colors range from sepia de dark brown, the aquatint technique has a monochromatic richness that adds a soft contemplative serenity to the subject.
Elisa Gana is an artist born in Miami with a BFA from Finis Terrae University of Chile. Her artistic focus is in intaglio recording and printmaking. She is a member of “Taller 99” founded by Nemesio Antúñez, and a pioneer in experimental printmaking. An avid collector of historical archival photography, her body of work is a reflection on memory, loss, and the accidental nature of time.
